Plot Summary/Synopsis
Betty Pinzón Solano is brilliant, ambitious, and kind-hearted. Unfortunately, Betty’s virtues often go unnoticed in world obsessed with appearances. Betty is the ugly duckling at Eco Moda, the powerful fashion design company at which she works. Despite her stellar education and resume, Betty is overshadowed by her beautiful, fashionable coworkers. With her intelligence and extensive experience, Betty deserves to be running her own company, but instead she is forced to settle as an assistant to the handsome young president, Armando Mendoza. Armando’s shallow fiancé, Marcela Valencia, argues that he should have a more attractive assistant and insists that Armando also hire her unqualified but eye-catching best friend, Patricia Fernández. While Patricia gets the royal treatment, Betty is forced to work in an abandoned storage room. Betty, however, is no stranger to adversity, and she makes it her mission to climb the corporate ladder using brains instead of beauty.
