Plot Summary/Synopsis

Life is never straightforward and there are many situations that are the exact opposite to what we might normally expect. Topacio is the daughter of rich farmers but when they discover that she is blind the reject her. Instead of being raised in a life of wealth and comfort she faces the cruel hardships that only a poor orphan would face.

Contrast Topacio’s hard life with that of Jorge Luis. He is an orphan too and his parents were incredibly poor. Yet despite such a background he inherits a large fortune and experiences the good things in life.

But Topacio is not condemned to a life of hardship for when her background is discovered she receives treatment for her blindness and recovers her sight. Once she has been healed her parents accept her and she too finds that life can be better than what she thought.
