Plot Summary/Synopsis

Sin Tetas No Hay Paraíso is a story of dreams and desperation. The plot revolves around Catalina, a 17-year old girl who hopes one day to live a life of luxury. Despite her remarkable beauty, Catalina believes that she must get breast implants in order to make herself desirable and attract a wealthy lover. Thus, Catalina turns to the seedy underworld of teenage prostitution. As she works as a “pre-paid girl,” having sex with drug dealers and criminals to raise money for her operation, Catalina is exposed to the horrors of the sex trade. Catalina thought that selling her body would be easy money, but she is quickly disillusioned as she deals with rape, abortion and depression. Sin Tetas No Hay Paraíso is based on the wildly successful novel by Gustavo Bolivar. Both the novel and the telenovela are praised for shedding light on the real-life conditions facing child prostitutes.
