Plot Summary/Synopsis

A successful Columbian comedy, Los Reyes revolves around the life of Berto Reyes. In a twist of fate that changes his life, the modest Berto saves a woman from committing suicide. As it turns out, the woman Berto saves is a prominent businesswoman. As an expression of her gratitude, she rewards Berto by making him the president of her company and giving him her fabulous mansion. Fortune has smiled upon Berto, but his new life brings trouble as well. Emilio Iriarte, Berto’s new neighbor and nemesis, is outraged that Berto is president of the company. The Reyes family and the Iriartes feud, but they also carry on secret love affairs with one another, including an adulterous relationship between Emilio and Tito’s transsexual sister, Laiza Reyes. Berto hopes to find love as well, but with all his problems, he wonders if his newfound wealth is a blessing or a curse.
